The purpose of the Church of Peace is to call people together to tell them the story of God’s faithfulness in such a way that they can find their place in this story and then become “story tellers” for others in the world.

We celebrate regular divine services (in the living liturgical tradition of the church) on Sundays and Christian festivals in both English and German (usually at 09h30). As Lutherans, we proclaim and live the Christian Gospel as it was rediscovered by Martin Luther in the Reformation era. Our core message therefore, is: God gives in fatherly love and grace to sinful humans in Christ forgiveness and full justification through Word and Sacrament in the Holy Spirit, placing them into a life of relationship with God and with one another. The RE-TRADE Project in Port Elizabeth
The RE-TRADE Project in Port Elizabeth Our congregation have embarked on a project called The Re-Trade project. It is a green-focused social enterprise and recycling drop-off point located in Walmer Heights. The project provides a space where recyclable materials can be exchanged for essential goods such as food, toiletries, blankets and clothing. Each black bag with recyclables earns you 10 points. When you have accumulated a number of points, you can start trading essential goods for your points. Volunteers run the store and assist participants. Profits from the sale of recyclables are reinvested to restock the shelves, supporting the long-term sustainability of the Trade Store.
