I have been pastoring since 1992, when I was graduated Bachelor in Theology by EST (Superior School of Theology), in S. Leopoldo. In 1990, I married Claudia, and we have one daughter, Fernanda, who was born in 1997. From 1989 until mid-1990, I completed my internship as a pastor in Marshalltown, Iowa, USA, and I graduated in July 1992.
In those thirty-five years of pastoring parishes in Brazil I have served in many different areas and realities. The first call was Gravatai, 3 years. Then comes Sobradinho, 15 years. Teofilo Otoni, 3 years. Rio das Antas 8 years. Transamazonica Parish, 3 years.
In 2018 a friend pastor told me about the shortage of pastors among the Lutheran congregations in South Africa.
I sent my resume and we started some talks on it. Things were going quite fine but God’s plans are not our plans (Isaiah 55,8-9). Pandemic came in and the planning had to be put aside. Last year, in May, the plan came back to live and we started to move on those forgotten plans and until October all things were set, with visas, travel tickets and any needed arrangements to come and start attend St. Crucis Lutheran, in Beacon Bay.
Last 2nd of February the induction as pastor for St. Crucis Lutheran happened.
Claudia, my wife, is a Social Worker, on sick leave pension, since she has broken her foot. Fernanda, our daughter, is a Chemical Engineer, and lives in S. Leopoldo.
